General Release Information

Release 1.16.1 (SuiteApp version 1.16.100) was released on October 12, 2026, and includes enhancements and a bug fix detailed below.

With this release, the redesigned Approval Matrix becomes available to all ZoneApprovals customers. For more information, see Creating an Approval Matrix in ZoneApprovals (Version 1.16.0 or Later).

Your Production account will be updated automatically, while you will need to manually update your Sandbox account at your convenience.

Enhancements

FFA-2141 Display Visible Row Identifier (#) on Approval Matrix Grid

In previous versions, troubleshooting matrix routing required administrators and consultants to manually count matrix rows (0, 1, 2, 3...) to map a transaction’s Active or Historical Approval Logs back to the corresponding rule set. To streamline configuration management and accelerate troubleshooting, we have introduced a dedicated numeric Row Identifier column labeled "#" situated as the very first column on the far left of the Approval Matrix grid.

The row numbering begins at 0 for the initial line, directly matching the backend level and the Order column logged on NetSuite transactions.

FFA-2168 Dynamic Row Renumbering on Approval Matrix Line Reordering

To ensure matrix configurations remain intuitive when adjusting approval flows, row identifiers now dynamically renumber in real time whenever lines are reordered within the matrix grid. This ensures that visual row indices continuously reflect the actual execution hierarchy and maintain an exact 1:1 correlation with transaction approval logs.

FFA-1722 Lazy Loading for Standard Entity Field in Approval Rules

To ensure optimal performance for enterprise accounts managing extensive master data (such as millions of combined Vendor, Customer, or Employee records), we have implemented dynamic lazy loading for the standard Entity field (entity) within the matrix Rules drawer.

Previously, the interface attempted to preload entire entity datasets into the browser upfront, which could lead to page freezing or browser timeouts. With this enhancement, the multiselect dropdown now dynamically queries and renders records in paginated batches of 50 as users scroll or search, providing a seamless and responsive experience regardless of database size.

To improve visual hierarchy and maximize usable workspace, we have refined the top container layout of the redesigned Approval Matrix interface. Unnecessary padding and whitespace above the matrix name and action buttons have been removed, allowing the application header to sit flush with the standard NetSuite top navigation bar and providing a cleaner view of matrix rules and approvers.

Bug Fix

FFA-2095 Bulk Approvals Fails to Load when Processing Large Batches of Journal Entries

In previous versions, users navigating to the Zone Bulk Approval page or dashboard portlet with approximately 35–40 pending Journal Entries may have encountered an Unexpected token '<', "<!DOCTYPE "... is not valid JSON error caused by a backend SSS_USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED governance failure. This occurred because the system retrieved all line-level transaction data upfront to recalculate Journal Entry total amounts on initial page load.

We have optimized the underlying query and calculation logic for Journal Entries in the Bulk Approval data service. Bulk approval lists and dashboard portlets will now load without encountering script governance limits.
