General Release Information
Release 1.14.0 (SuiteApp version 1.14.000) was released on November 6, 2025, and includes several enhancements and bug fixes detailed below. Your Production account will be updated automatically, while you will need to manually update your Sandbox account at your convenience.
Enhancements
FFA-928 Send Email Reminders to Approvers
In previous versions, ZoneApprovals sent out only the initial email notification when a transaction was assigned. Also, the Overdue Threshold feature marked transactions that exceeded their approval time but with no email notification. This might have resulted in transactions being forgotten and lost in an approver's inbox, creating workflow bottlenecks.
To prevent transaction delays and ensure timely action, we've introduced the Approval Reminder feature. This enhancement allows for a single, consolidated daily email to be sent to approvers with a clear, actionable list of all transactions currently pending their approval that are marked as overdue. This new feature delivers the following benefits:
- Custom Scheduling: This configuration step enables the feature. Administrators can utilize the new Approval Reminder Schedule field to specify the exact time of day the reminder email is sent, ensuring it arrives when approvers are most likely to act.
- Eliminate Bottlenecks: By providing a daily, consolidated reminder, transactions are less likely to stall and the overall approval cycle time is reduced.
- Actionable Visibility: Approvers receive a single email containing direct links to each overdue transaction and a link to the Bulk Approvals page.
- Smart Delivery: The email is only sent when overdue transactions are present, preventing unnecessary inbox clutter.
The Approval Reminder email schedule follows the company time zone setting in NetSuite. The feature is enabled by setting the Approval Reminder Schedule field in Approval Configuration. If this field is left empty, the reminder functionality remains off. Also, a reminder email is only sent if both the Overdue Threshold is configured (to mark transactions as overdue) and the Approval Reminder Schedule is configured.
FFA-1870 Real-Time Overdue Search Logic and Saved Search Renaming
We have enhanced the accuracy of key saved searches and portlets that display overdue and pending transactions. The logic within the FFA Approvals Overdue, FFA My Team's Overdue Approvals and FFA NOW My Team's Overdue Approvals saved searches has been updated. Previously, transactions could experience a delay before appearing in these lists after crossing the Overdue Threshold. This is now fully resolved. Transactions now appear in these lists the instant the overdue flag is set, providing accurate, real-time data for all threshold settings.
To improve user understanding of the data scope, several related saved searches and their portlet links have been renamed. Searches previously titled with "My Team's" (which reflected transactions across the user's entire subsidiary/hierarchy) have been updated to the more accurate prefix "Subsidiary". This change ensures clarity on whose transactions are being viewed. The list below indicates the original search & portlet name and the newly updated version:
- Pending Approval → My Pending Approvals
- Overdue Approvals → My Overdue Approvals
- Approved Transactions → My Approved Transactions
- My Team's Pending Approval → Subsidiary Pending Approvals
- My Team's Overdue Approvals → Subsidiary Overdue Approvals
- My Team's Rejected Approvals → Subsidiary Rejected Approvals
Bug Fixes
FFA-1881 Prevent Transactions from Posting in Locked Periods
Previously, due to a configuration change of the script execution role to 'Admin' for the ZA Approve / Reject UI Action SL script, transactions were approved with the Override Period Restrictions permission and posted into locked periods. This issue is now resolved by reverting the script execution role to the ZoneApprovals (Application Role), ensuring that the system respects all accounting period locks and posts transactions into the next or current open period.
